Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how SwiftNet ("we", "us", "our"), the free internet speed test available at speedtest.acquilearning.com, handles information when you use the site. We keep the tool free by showing advertising, and we want to be clear about the limited data involved and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
SwiftNet is operated by AcquiLearning. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us through the contact form on the site or by email at acquilearning@gmail.com.
2. Information we process
- Speed-test measurements. The test runs in your browser. It downloads and uploads data to and from third-party test servers and times it to estimate your download speed, upload speed, ping and jitter. Results are shown to you on your device and are not stored on our servers or linked to your identity. If you use the "Share result" or "Save image" feature, the result card is generated locally in your browser.
- Connection information. To run the test and to display context such as your approximate location and Internet Service Provider, your device's IP address is necessarily visible to the test servers and to an IP-lookup service (see "Third-party services"). An IP address may be considered personal data in some jurisdictions.
- Contact form. If you send us a message, we receive the name, email address and message you provide, solely to respond to you.
- Preferences. Your chosen language and light/dark theme are stored locally in your browser (localStorage). They stay on your device and are not sent to us.
- Usage and advertising data. Advertising and analytics partners may collect data as described below.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, understand usage, and deliver and measure advertising. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can manage advertising choices as described in the next section. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
4. Advertising (Google AdSense and partners)
- We use Google AdSense to display ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu.
- For more information about how Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps, see Google's Privacy & Terms.
- Users in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland: we present a consent message (a Google-certified Consent Management Platform) so you can accept or decline personalised advertising and manage your choices. You can change your choice at any time via the privacy options link presented by that message.
5. Analytics
We may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous usage (for example, how many people run a test) so we can improve the service. Google Analytics may set cookies and process usage data on our behalf. See Google's Privacy Policy.
6. Third-party services
The site relies on these third parties, each with its own privacy policy:
- Google AdSense — advertising.
- Google Analytics — usage analytics (if enabled).
- Cloudflare — provides the test servers used to measure throughput and latency.
- ipwho.is — IP geolocation used to display your approximate city and ISP.
- Netlify — website hosting and, if you use the contact form, form handling.
7. How we use information
We use the limited information above to run and improve the speed test, display and measure advertising that keeps the tool free, respond to your messages, and keep the site secure and functioning. We do not sell your personal information.
8. Data retention
We do not maintain accounts or a database of test results. Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry. Data held by our advertising and analytics partners is retained according to their own policies.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to or opt out of personalised advertising (including under the GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act). You can exercise ad choices via the links in section 4, adjust cookies in your browser, and contact us using the details in section 1 for other requests.
10. Children's privacy
SwiftNet is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. International users
The service and its providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where we transfer data internationally, we rely on our providers' safeguards for such transfers.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
